The Beginning
CFD Cubao officially began on July 13, 2023 under the leadership of our spiritual adviser, Rev. Fr. Ben Arceno, and the approval and endorsement of then-bishop of the diocese of Cubao, Most. Rev. Fr. Honesto F. Ongtioco, D.D.
Before the endorsement letter
In the middle of the pandemic, before CFD Cubao came into fruition, Fr. Ben Arceno invited Bro. James Consencino, a CFD leader in Davao, to speak in Fr. Ben’s then-parish, Holy Family Parish GSIS Village. Through their efforts, they began a series of apologetics class, which inspired other parish priests in the diocese. Fr. Ben met with CFD National Theological Adviser, Fr. Abe Arganiosa, and together drafted a letter to Bishop Ongtioco. And the rest is history.
After the endorsement letter
At present, CFD Cubao, under the direction of CFD QC, has spread the good news and power of apologetics to 14 parishes (and counting!). CFD Cubao continues its ministry through lay training, and public speaking in different platforms.
Our Mother Chapter
CFD Cubao is under the supervision of CFD QC, headed by its current president, Bro. Bien Agabin. Together with CFD Novaliches, CFD QC is effectively creating an impact in the city through apologetics and bible study.
Our Mission
CFD Cubao is one with CFD National in its mission to guide the faithful on how to take a strong stand for the Church.
CFD Cubao hopes to train up-and-coming apologists who are accurate, knowledgeable and scripture-ready to counter attacks against the Church. We deeply value the instruction of the apostle St. Peter in his first letter:
“Always be prepared to make a defense for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” – 1 Peter 3:15
